Originally from Sugar City, Idaho, Mrs. Alane McLing has been teaching for 28 years, all here at Rocky Mountain Middle School! Mrs. McLing will continue to teach Science for us next year. She originally thought that she'd like to teach high school because she had so much fun herself in high school. But she has since learned that middle school is the place for her. She wasn't a great student herself, so she feels like she can reach those kids that struggle in school. Her favorite part about teaching is those “ah ha” moments when students really get it and when students finally decide they can be successful. She loves musical theatre and helping with the Rocky Mountain musical each year. She loves going to the theatre, attending concerts, and spending time with her two awesome grandkids. A philosophy she lives by? You can do hard things.
