Originally from Tampa, Florida, Mr. Derek Stephens has spent 4 years in education, but this is his first year teaching at Rocky Mountain. He loves teaching and seeing students learn and make connections between the material they are learning and their lives. His favorite part about teaching is the relationships he builds with students and being able to watch them grow as individuals. He loves driving fast cars, rock concerts, weight training, boxing, and Muay Thai! He has been happily married for over 25 years and is blessed with three great boys. A quote he loves comes from Bruce Lee: "If you always put limit[s] on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there -- you must go beyond them." He is excited to join the amazing team at RMMS. He believes he couldn’t ask for a better group of peers and mentors to share great success with!
